Davey Boy got the 1989 Andre spot, scoring the first three eliminations of the match. I like how the odds keep stacking higher against Flair throughout the Rumble. After surviving the onslaught of Intercontinental title contenders such as Kerry Von Erich, The Big Bossman and Greg Valentine, Flair has to deal with Roddy Piper and the rest of the heavy hitters like Jake The Snake, Macho Man, Hulk Hogan, Sid Justice and Skinner.
You can count the great Royal Rumble matches on one hand. This is the first and only great Rumble until 2001.
