The Royal Rumble event tradition of boring non-wrestling segments was put on hold, because The Brother Love Show here is anything but boring. But it did set the stage for a Dusty / Savage feud that should have been a whole lot better in terms of in-ring work.

Valentine and Garvin showed here that they were woefully underutilized in the Federation.

While The Genius was often present in Federation pay per view events during his tenure, this event marks his only pay per view appearance as an in-ring competitor.
