Brutus The Barber's record against The Honkytonk Man in Survivor Series directly corresponds with his improvement in his Federation tenure.
In the opening match of Survivor Series 1987, Honkytonk pinned Brutus, eliminating him.
In the opening match of Survivor Series 1988, Brutus got a small measure of revenge, fighting on the floor with Honky and getting the two of them counted out.
In the opening match of Survivor Series 1989, Brutus pinned Honkytonk and went on to survive the match.
Like Magnum TA, Brutus was well on his way to a well-deserved championship run when a horrific accident cut his career off. I know Brutus was afforded more opportunities because of his friendship with Hulk Hogan. But Brutus got over on his own and I would love to have seen him with the Intercontinental title.
